What does HYROX look like at Studio 281?
At Studio 281, HYROX isn’t just a buzzword — it’s built into our training. We offer structured sessions tailored to race prep, performance, and fun. Here’s what’s included:
HYROX Simulations – Full-format events replicating a HYROX race from start to finish. Timed. Paced. Competitive. These are held at Studio 281 and open to all HYROX members.
HYROX Circuits – HYROX-inspired classes that break down movements like wall balls, sled pushes, burpees, ski-erg and more — delivered in a class format to build skill and endurance.
HYROX Performance – Focused on compromised running — a training style that pushes you to run under fatigue after a functional station, exactly like in a real HYROX race. It’s the perfect prep for race conditions.
What actually is HYROX?
It’s a global fitness race made up of 8 x 1km runs, each followed by a functional workout (like sled push, ski erg, and wall balls). Everyone does the same format — so you can train, track progress, and compete fairly.
Do I need to be fit to start HYROX training?
Nope! You don’t need to be an athlete — just ready to put in the work. Our classes are structured for all levels, and we’ll help you build up from wherever you are.
Are HYROX simulations included in membership?
Yes – our HYROX simulation events are included for all HYROX members. You’ll get a chance to test your training under race-like conditions, with coaches tracking times and offering guidance.
Next simulation dates: 26th July, 16th August, 13th September, 4th October, 15th November
Start time 9:10am
Do I get early access to tickets?
Yes — if you’re in our HYROX training funnel at Studio 281, you’ll get early access to team race entries, simulations, and special events. We’ve got strong links with HYROX UK, and our members get first dibs when we book for major races.
What’s compromised running?
Compromised running is a HYROX-specific training method where you run straight after doing a high-intensity functional exercise (like a sled push or wall balls).
It trains your body to keep pace and stay efficient under fatigue — key to success on race day.
What if I’ve never done anything like this before?
That’s exactly why we run beginner-friendly sessions. You’ll learn proper technique, pacing, and how to approach each station. Loads of our members were brand new to this.
Do I have to sign up for a race to join?
Not at all. You can train just for fun or fitness. But if you do want to compete, we’ll support you all the way — from training blocks to team race days.
Can I train with a partner or team?
Absolutely. HYROX can be done solo, in doubles, or relay. You’ll find plenty of people here pairing up or forming race squads. It’s a real team vibe.
What should I bring to class?
Just water, trainers, and good energy. We provide all the equipment. You don’t need anything fancy.
Do you have a trial class I can try?
Yes, you can get a trial class to see if you like Hyrox: Visit the Pricing section on our Bedford pages to find out more.
What is your cancellation policy?
All our classes have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel, please do so before this. Unfortunately, if you cancel within 24 hours or less you will not receive your credit back as this will not be refunded. View our full cancellation policy here.
