Course Overview: Pre & Post-Natal Pilates CPD Course

Our Pre & Post-Natal Pilates CPD Course, certified by CPD, is designed for qualified instructors with a minimum of 30 hours of teaching experience and a Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification. This course equips you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to safely adapt your classes for pre and post-natal clients.

Course Format
This hybrid CPD combines online learning with an in-person practical session:

Online Learning

  • Covers pregnancy health considerations, safe body positioning, and a comprehensive movement library
  • Learn how to adapt classical Pilates exercises for pregnancy
  • Understand contraindications and when to refer clients

Online Learning

  • Apply your learning in real-time
  • Conduct a postnatal Pilates assessment covering posture, abdominal strength, pelvic floor concerns, and safe return-to-exercise strategies
  • Deliver a pregnancy and postnatal-safe section of a class plan, then learn how to adapt and progress it

Frequently asked questions


What qualifications do you need to teach Reformer Pilates in the UK?

Studio 281 has therefore created a contemporary reformer instructor training programme, that is only available to those with a Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification.
This requirement is to ensure that instructors are teaching reformer classes safely and with sufficient training.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes! You can spread the cost over 5 months after paying your deposit.

How much theory vs practical is there?

Approximately 40% theory (online modules) and 60% practical (in-studio weekends, peer practice, assessments).

What’s the assessment process?

You’ll complete online quizzes, a written exam, and a final observed teaching session.

How many students are in a group?

We cap our courses at 15  students to keep the learning experience personal and supportive.
